Attenuation

noun: the reduction of the amplitude of a signal, electric current, or other oscillation.
A simple plug and play motion-activated volume dimmer, or sound “attenuator”.
When motion is detected in front of the PIR sensor, the volume is gradually increased from 0 to 100%. After a period of no motion, the sound gradually fades away until triggered again.
